Celebrate World Sleep Day With This Vegan Moon Milk Recipe

Ever heard of Moon Milk? This insomnia-fighting drink has been around for centuries in India and has recently had a few makeovers. The main ingredients remain Ayurvedic and include a milk base with sleep-inducing, stomach calming spices such as turmeric and cinnamon to help calm nerves and soothe your body to sleep. Not only is it an amazing sleep aid, it's super easy to make and can be made with vegan alternatives!

To make Purple Moon Milk:

YOU WILL NEED:

1 X CUP ALMOND MILK

1/2 TSP GROUND CINNAMON, GROUND TURMERIC AND CARDAMOM

1/4 CUP BLENDED BLUEBERRIES

DRIED LAVENDER TO GARNISH (OPTIONAL)

METHOD:

1) GENTLY HEAT THE ALMOND MILK IN A SAUCEPAN.

2) ADD THE SPICES, BLENDED BLUEBERRIES AND SIMMER ON A LOW HEAT.

3) ONCE THE COLOUR BEGINS TO CHANGE, SIEVE AND POUR INTO A MUG.

4) GARNISH WITH LAVENDER AND ENJOY.

Want to make pink moon milk? Just replace the blueberries with beetroot powder! It's just as delicious and gives off a beautiful pink hue. Make sure you really add it as a night-time ritual by enjoying it at a slow pace whilst tucked up in bed.

Wishing you a good nights sleep....
